Adding a Logo to an Existing eLearning Course

Create a Logo

The first thing you should do is create a logo image (either a JPG or PNG file) that is the correct size for the course style you are using.

You can look up the acceptable dimensions for each style** on our wiki (scroll down until you see the heading "Course Logo Dimensions").

**Note:  If you can't remember what style is being used on your course, open the course in the authoring tool, and click on the "Edit Course Settings" button.

Click on "Step 2: Course Style" to see the name of the style.

Adding the Logo to an Existing Course

Open the course you would like to add the logo to in the authoring tool.

Click on the "Edit Course Settings" button at the top center of the screen.

Click on "Step 4: Course Logo" and then click on the folder icon to open the media manager and browse for the image** (you can do a search or click through the pages and find it alphabetically).

**Note:  if you haven't uploaded the image for the logo to the media manager yet, you will have to do that first. If it is a PNG, make sure that you uncheck the box that says "Convert PNGs to JPG" when you upload it to the media manager. If you plan on using a PNG for the logo, make sure you course meets these requirements.

Click on the image you want to use and then click on "Insert Selected."

Click on "Update the Course."

You can now clear your cache and preview the course to see how your new logo looks!
