Hi, could someone make some suggestions for where I should look in my setup for why the Narration is not actually populating into the Transription pane on my course. I created our own 'look and feel' using the original black slider design a few years ago. We're now finally in production to use ProForm and so I'm not sure what got lost in the translation from original Black Slider to ours. however, the if I change my course to use the newest Black Slider style it does display. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Kris

If you updated the narration.fla file, perhaps something was broken during that process. The code that loads the text into the narration pane is contained in narration.as. So you can look through that and see if you notice any problems.
Another thought, maybe the text in the narration.fla field was changed to white. This would cause the text to be white on white and look like it doesn't show.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your suggestions. I never did anything with the narration.fla file so I took a look at it. I am not a strong Flash person so I couldn't figure out how the textfield color could be altered. If it is set to White, I didn't do it. The panel does open upon click of the Transcript button. There's just nothing displaying. I verified that text was added to the pages for narration and nothing shows up. I opened the sco.xml to verify the text I've entered in Narration is in the <narration> tags. Any other ideas?

The color in the body definition of the css file is black (#000000). I have never modified anything related to the narration files. Any other ideas? Any chance you can look at my files to see if something got moved or anything else that is required for the text to display is missing?

Make sure it is a sample course that includes the source files. I will take a look as soon as I get a chance. If it requires work on our side, that would require a quote from professional services.
I have uploaded the zipped project with all source files to http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13771355/CVTA_InterfaceOverview_KrisThayer.zip
The file size is 187 MBs.
Thanks Steve!

I simply republished the narration.fla and it started working again. I'm not sure what wasn't working before, but republishing it seemed to fix it. I have attached the SWF if you want it or you can just republish yours.
Steve
Steve, you're awesome! I'm so happy it was that easy to fix. I republished at my end and it's now working fine. Thanks again for your superb support and quick responses. Kris
